Five on Friday- BarkBox Edition

I'm linking up today with the Five on Friday girls- A.Liz AdventuresCarolina CharmThe Good Life, and Hello Happiness! and the Oh Hey Friday girls- September Farm and The Farmer's Wife!

This past Spring/Summer I signed Tinsley up for a 6 month subscription to BarkBox.  If you do not know what BarkBox is, it is a subscription service for dogs where they send you 4-6 items including toys and treats for your dog each month.  We loved 5 out of the 6 boxes we received and got a variety of items.  Right now, we are using up all the treats from the boxes and I plan on signing her back up for another 6 months after the new year.

Here is a look at the last box we received in October:

1.) PetProjekt Football Tretbal:  Tinsley loves this toy.  We tend to put about five treats (been using the treats below that we got in a previous box) while watching football on TV and she has a ball.

2.) Etta Says Duck Chew:  I gave her this as soon as we got the box without getting a picture.  She loved it.

3.)  Muddy Buddy Dog Mop:  We used this to help dry Tinsley in her last bath and it helped dry her quicker than a towel.

4.)  Safemade Pet Pawxford Pennant:  We have not given her this toy yet but will in the next week or so for something different.  It crinkles, which will be different and fun for her.

5.)  Nootie Jerky Burger BBQ Duck:  Again, we have not yet used these as we were trying to finish off some older treats from previous boxes.

Five on Friday- NYC Food

I'm linking up today with the Five on Friday girls- A.Liz AdventuresCarolina CharmThe Good Life, and Hello Happiness! and the Oh Hey Friday girls- September Farm and The Farmer's Wife!

My husband and I had a blast in NYC a few weekends ago.  The food was definitely one of the highlights. For breakfast and lunch, we mostly just stopped in random deli's that we found along the way and they were all good.  I did not keep track of their names and locations, however.

Here are some of the places we checked out while there:

1.)   Room Service (Thai Food)-  Friday for dinner

I got the chicken Pad Thai, which was delicious and my husband got the beef fried rice (also good).  The restaurant seemed a bit crowded but we got a table right away at 6:30 pm and our food and drinks came out quickly.  It was also reasonably priced, not too expensive.

2.)  Iron Bar and Grill -Saturday lunch for the OSU Game

We ordered the nachos right when the game started and they were very good. I had never had an egg on nachos, and have decided an egg on anything is delicious. We planned on ordering more food at half time but were still too full from the nachos to order more so decided to wait to eat more at our next location.

3.) Tonic in Times Square - Saturday for more college football

We stopped in Tonic bar to watch the end of the Florida State game and share a meal to hold us over to a later dinner.  We got the California Wrap with Sweet Potato fries, which was on the specials menu.  It was ok, not the best meal we had.

4.) Junior's - Late dinner Saturday night

There was a half hour wait to get a table at Juniors, but the bar was open so we choose to just eat at the bar.  The bartender was very nice and funny.  I chose to get a cheeseburger with sauteed onions and my husband got the Ruben.  They were both very good and filling.  The Ruben is best when dipping it in the coleslaw that comes with it.  They are known for their cheesecake, however we are huge on sweets and were way too full for dessert.

5.) We stayed in Philly Thursday night and Sunday night and tried two different cheesesteak places that were both good-

Top Tomato - When we arrived to Philly on Thursday, we asked the hotel where we could walk to get a good cheese steak.  She suggested Top Tomato and said all the locals go there.

Steve's Price of Steaks - When we arrived back in Philly Sunday night, we decided we just wanted to order in a cheese steak and relax in the hotel.  We both did separate google searches and came up with the same result- Steve's, so that's what we choose.  We both agreed it was better than Top Tomato.

Now, I'm hungry to go back and have more yummy food.  Hope you have a great weekend!

These are a Few of My Favorite Things- Family + Friends Gifts Under $100

Linking back up with AprilEliseKatie, and Zelle to share my ideas for Family and Friends that are under $100.

This year we are buying more gifts that we can do with our family members than objects, such as a day shopping trip with lunch out or tickets to a local sporting event.  We know our family members will love these "dates" we are giving them.

Here are some other ideas that we will be doing this year:

1.) Netflix Subscription - Last year we got everyone Google Chromecast and Netflix.  This year we may give them more free months to Netflix.

2.)  Photo Book or Calendar - I love Shutterfly and making gifts on their website with pictures.  This summer we had a big family trip to Vegas and I took all of our pictures and made a photo book for my husband's grandpa.  I know he will love it.  Calendars are also a go to gift (even for myself).

3.)  Movie Night Bucket - The family I nanny for, I decided to make a bucket filled with everything they need for a movie at home this winter including popcorn, candy, Redbox gift card (or a DVD) and hot chocolate. You could make other buckets too like build a snowman kit, spa day, or winter sickness.

4.) Personalized notebooks or planners - I recieved a planner from May Designs last year and loved it. They are very well priced and very cute designs plus you can make other things like baby books and wedding planning books.

5.)  Gloves, Scarves, Hats - My sister-in-laws and I always end of exchanging some sort of cute winter gear.  This year I am going to attempt to make something for them or shall I say recraft something to make it cute.  We shall see...I wish I could make cute boot cuffs like these:
